This is for a part-time contract position that we hope to make a full-time employment position by end of year. We are seeking the right fit for our team and client needs. Fresh ID is looking for a talented, responsible and creative Digital/Print Designer to help develop and produce strategic creative solutions for print collateral, websites and web applications. You must be able to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Designer at Fresh ID, you are responsible for the development and execution of creative concepts for leading-edge marketing and web solutions. You’ll be working in a creative environment with a creative director, social media strategists, copywriters, interactive producers, project managers and front-end developers. We are looking for people who are passionate about designing the user experience, and crave working with other smart people to solve the toughest design challenges. Your proactive approach to creative problem solving and ability to learn continuously will be essential to the success of your team. You must be dependable, detail-oriented, able to work both autonomously and as part of a team, able to take direction and possess the ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Your Responsibilities

• Develop and frame creative concepts according to creative brief requirements or verbal direction
• Produce work in the areas of print, promotions and digital
• Apply brand identity systems, typography, photography, color and other ingredients appropriately to create innovative visual solutions that meet business and user needs
• Visualize, design and conceptualize user experiences
• Create visual prototypes or screens
• Produce high quality GUI elements and print files and ensure usability and aesthetic quality of interfaces
• Extend existing visual systems/brand guidelines across all mediums with moderate design changes or interpretation
• Work in WordPress and HTML/CSS to complete design objectives
• Manage project time lines efficiently and effectively
• Collaborate with team members, vendors and other contractors

Your Qualifications

• Strong conceptual, design, interface design and layout skills with a high degree of creativity, attention to detail and quality of work
• Experienced in all current design programs (Adobe Creative Suite)
• Experience with WordPress, HTML, blogs and social networks
• A good working knowledge of interactivity and working online, including web hosting, FTP, etc.
• 1 – 5 years design experience and/or solid internship experience (with recommendations)
• Strong design portfolio required… this is mandatory for an interview
• Up to date in current design knowledge and trends
• Bachelors degree or college courses in a design related field
• Self motivated, organized and accountable
• Some travel may be required
• Understanding of HTML & CSS required – ability to create standards compliant HTML/CSS a plus
• Experience with Flash animation or Javascript a plus
• Illustration skills using Adobe Illustrator a plus – you will be expected to heavily modify art routinely in lllustrator, Photoshop & InDesign if lacking illustrative skills
• Experience with web application design, ecommerce design & user experience/human factors a plus
• Experience with social media marketing, video filming and channels such as Ustream, etc. a plus

About This Job

• This is a part time, contract position to begin. Monday – Friday, about 5 hours a day. We offer a flexible work schedule so talk to us about the hours that work best for you. We hope to make this a full time position by 2011.
• Contract rates negotiable based on experience and portfolio quality
• We are located in downtown Kansas City and are seeking local candidates only for on-site work – no relocation assistance is offered
